New messages return to España’s repainted waiting sheds

Photos dated September 27 show new messages on España’s waiting sheds, continuing a visible cycle of street writing and repainting.

New messages appeared on the red backs of waiting sheds along España Boulevard in Sampaloc, Manila, in photos dated September 27, 2026. They followed repainting that had covered earlier street writing.

The messages ranged from personal to political: “DO IT FOR LOVE, WITH LOVE.” and “WHAT ARE WE..?” appeared alongside “Tanggal kurakot muna bago pintura!” The shed backs had become places to read again while waiting by the road.

The Flame’s April 2025 profile of Love Limmy documented earlier writing around España and the artist associated with the initials L.L. That history gives the newer messages context, but it does not identify who wrote them.

The latest photographs do not establish that Love Limmy made the new inscriptions. They also do not establish why a particular message was covered. Similar locations and lettering are not enough to assign authorship or motive.

What they do show is a recurring change in the streetscape: paint covers one set of words, then another set appears. On España, even the back of a waiting shed can become part of the neighborhood’s conversation.
