First came 21 Jump Street. Then 22 Jump Street. Sony has now put the third film, 24 Jump Street, on its North American theatrical calendar for December 10, 2027, according to Variety and TheWrap.
Yes, the title skips 23. That fits a franchise that has always enjoyed poking fun at its own sequels. An earlier 23 Jump Street project, developed as a crossover with Men in Black, did not reach cinemas. The new title keeps the running gag going.
What is confirmed so far?
Rodney Rothman is set to direct from a screenplay he wrote with Jonah Hill and Meghan Malloy. Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who directed the first two films, are returning as producers, Variety reported.
The familiar trio may return, but the casting needs careful wording. Variety’s latest release-date report still describes Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and Ice Cube as being in talks. Until their deals are publicly confirmed, their appearances should not be treated as settled.
The December 10 date is a scheduled North American opening and could move. A Philippine release date has not been announced in the reports cited here.
